Bradway Primary School

Bradway Primary is thinking of joining a Trust!

Why we are thinking of becoming a Trust school.

Hopefully parents and others in our local community will have recently received a copy of a leaflet (see image below) outlining Bradway's plans to join a newly formed Co-operative Trust called Synergy Learning Trust, together with up to seven other local schools.

Recent governments have made many far reaching changes to the way that education is organised in England and you may have read about some of these changes in the media. In this context of rapid change we have considered various options for the future, including the option of remaining as an individual school, becoming an academy or becoming a Trust school. A number of factors have contributed to our decision to apply for Trust status with the main one being the desire for greater collaboration between schools in the area without leaving Local Authority control and without losing our school's individuality.

What are the benefits of Trust status?

By establishing a formal structure in this way we believe that standards will rise as each school benefits from being part of a larger partnership. In addition our collective purchasing power will result in lower prices for goods and services. We already work together with many of the proposed Trust schools but we aim to deepen and develop our links with them through a co-ordinated strategy led by the members of a new Trust Board. This board would be comprised of representatives from all the schools.
I hope that you will support our plans to become part of Synergy Learning Trust. If you have any questions or feedback, or if you would just like to find out more, please do attend the consultation meetings outlined in the leaflet.
Very best wishes,
Paul Stockley
