Bradway Values

Happy New Year to you all!

As you will be aware we have been working closely with all members of our school community to develop a set of core values to underpin our school ethos and aims. We had a whole school values morning back in October when all pupils worked in cross phases to come up with six values most important to them. The children voted and the results are in the table below. Once children had voted we then took on the views of staff and our lunchtime supervisors. During our recent parental consultation evenings, parents were invited to vote for the values they felt were most important to teach and develop within school and of course we consulted with our Governors.
As the table below shows there were many similarities in the votes cast.

The six values chosen are:

Friendship

We are now working on dividing the values in to the six half terms, making links to existing Learning for Life (L4L) sessions and key events in our school calendar. We also want to make  links, where applicable to the five 'British Values' which are:
Democracy
Rule of law
Individual liberty
Mutual respect
Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs

As soon as we have done this we will let you know.
Once we are up and running we will let you know at the beginning of each term which value is being introduced.

Thank you to all those who voted and we do hope you agree with the final six :-)
