Summer Reading Challenge
Tuesday 07 Jul 2015
Yesterday, a librarian from Totley Library, came to talk to the KS2 children about the Summer Reading Challenge.
The Summer Reading Challenge theme this year is Record Breaker. This will bring together the worlds of fact and fiction, challenging young readers to explore some of the astonishing real-life achievements and world records featured in the Guinness World Records Books.
The Summer Reading Challenge is aimed at children aged four to eleven and takes place during the summer holidays. Children can sign up at their local library, then just read six library books. Collecting stickers as they go, young readers will discover weird, wonderful and wacky records from around the world with a certificate with medal at the end of the challenge -all FREE.
You can go to any UK library running the Summer Reading Challenge and you don’t have to keep going to the same library. So if you are on holiday in the UK your child should still be able to keep up with the Challenge.
