What is Pupil Premium Funding?
The Pupil Premium is an allocation of funding provided to schools to support specific groups of children who may be vulnerable to underachievement. The aim of the funding is to tackle inequalities between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged pupils.
How do we use Pupil Premium Funding?
We view each child holistically and use the funding to identify individual needs and specific barriers to learning. Our evidence based, personalised approach allows for targeted and strategic use of the Pupil Premium in order to bridge the attainment gap. In this manner, we aim to raise the aspiration and achievement of our disadvantaged children.
Who is entitled to Pupil Premium Funding?
We are currently funded £1,345 per pupil for those families who have registered for free school meals (FSM). This includes any child who has been registered for FSM at any point during the past six years. We also receive £2,345 for each pupil who has left local-authority care because of adoption, a special guardianship order, a child arrangements order or a residence order. Children of Regular Armed Forces personnel are eligible for Service Pupil Premium (SPP) and the school receives £310.
