Gingerbread man takeover
Friday 23 Sep 2016
This week we have been surrounded by Gingerbread men, they have got everywhere!
In Literacy we have been reading and learning our version of the story which includes a rat, a fat cat and a black bull, no wonder he ran so fast. The children have learnt
actions and have retold the story using puppets and masks. They have drawn pictures of all the characters from the story, reading the key words and labelling them. We really enjoyed reading the Gingerbread Baby, if you have any different versions of the story we would love to read them.
Over the next half term each child will also have the opportunity to bake their very own gingerbread man. We have learnt, from the story, that we needto be patient whilst they are baking and open the door slowly so that Mrs Hunter doesn’t have to run after any Gingerbread men that have escaped.
In Maths we have been continuing with number work, we have been using Numicon to identify numbers, using number lines to count on 1 more and 1 less froma given number and used hundred squares to help fill in the blanks on a hundred square.
We have been hearing all about Education City and it is clear that the children are enjoying the activities on there. If anyone is having trouble loggingon or needs any help please feel free to ask.
Have a super weekend and don't eat too many Gingerbread men.
