Welcome back

Welcome back to the summer term, we hope you all had a lovely Easter break.

At the top of the year one page you will now find the outline plan for for this half terms learning.

This week in Maths we have been halving. We started to halve shapes and objects and then moved on to halving numbers. We used the method of Dot- Chop- Count to help with our halving, ask your child to explain the method to you. Next week we shall be moving onto halving and quartering.

In Literacy we have been looking at non-fiction books on materials. We have been using the books to help us create our own booklets all about glass, wood, metal and plastic. We have also started to look at plants and how they grow and next week we shall be planting sunflower seeds and writing a sunflower diary and sunflower facts.

If you get the chance, do pop into the classroom to see the wonderful pastel drawings the children have done of Daffodils.
