What do you see?

This week in Literacy we have started looking at the story of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you See? We went on a walk around school to see what we could see, the children then used their observations to create their own version of the story.

In Numeracy we have continued to focus on place value and teen numbers. We have used dienes and numicon to help them picture and construct the tens and ones.

In Science we have continued to look at the weather and the children became expert weather forecasters creating their own weather reports.

In P4C in Y1PL we discussed what we can get from trees, suggestions included conkers, beautiful leaves, fruit and sticks. We then went to the woods and collected our favourite sticks and the children used their imagination to think what else the sticks could be used for. We then read the story The Giving Tree and discussed our thoughts. The children will be using these thoughts to create philosophical questions next week.

In Y1H we decided which picture was the odd one out and stated our reasons for our opinions. The children formed an agreement line. The children discussed which item they would rather find and discussed why.
