Do I detect a crime?
Friday 23 Sep 2016
What an exciting start to the week we had! On Tuesday we were called to the woods to assist with some urgent police business. On our approach we could smell sweet, warm porridge and we soon discovered a startling scene! Armed with tweezers, evidence bags and our wits we started to investigate the scene, looking for clues and gathering evidence. We were determined to find out what had happened and, more importantly, who was responsible?
This dramatic event has enabled us to describe a real setting and write a police report, using expanded noun phrases to add detail. We really have been learning through enjoyment this week!
Apologies to all for us not managing to send home copies of your child's Y1 common exception words spelling test results. These took longer to administer than anticipated. Copies will be sent home early next week.
Education City is now up and running and children have all been given log in details. The children have been given an introduction to the new learning platform and have had a go at logging on and choosing some activities. It would be really helpful if your child could practise logging on at home, by typing in their own username and password. We will be setting homework for the children after October Half Term. Until then, we would like your child to spend 30 minutes a week getting familiar with the site and selecting activities of their choice, from a range of subjects.
We hope you all have an enjoyable weekend,
Y2 Team.
