We have had a busy week this week and the children have worked incredibly hard mastering multiplication and division. We have learnt all about multiplications and arrays and next week are going to look at the links with division more closely. We are even going to challenge you all with multiplication and division word problems!!!
In Literacy we have been looking at features of a good letter and we have been reading the hilarious, Dear Teacher and John Patrick Norman McHennessy. We are writing our own letters to Mr Stockley explaining very clearly and with lots of detail why we were late to class. The more far fetched the better!!
In learning for life we have been looking at growth and fixed mindsets, ask your child to explain the difference.
We are looking forward to meeting those of you who can make it to our workshop on Monday 23rd of January. For those who are unable to make it or who may be double booked with older or younger siblings please be assured the key points discussed will be uploaded to our blog and any material handed out will be sent home with your child. Following parents' evening discussions it was felt that maths and reading were the areas parents felt they needed more information and guidance on how they could help support their child's learning at home so hopefully by the end of the workshop you will all feel more knowledgeable about how maths is taught and how you can support your child.
Have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
