Friday 24th June
Friday 24 Jun 2016
After an unexpected start to the week, with our gas leak we eventually managed to get down to some hard work! In Literacy, we read lots of 'Magic Key' stories and talked about the structure of these stories. In pairs we read many together and really demonstrated this half term's value of FRIENDSHIP! After that, we planned our own adventure story, using a magical item of our choice, to transport us somewhere exciting. We then set to work, using many of the skills we have developed over the year, to write our amazing adventure stories!
A few reminders/pleas:
- Please ensure your child has a named water bottle in school, containing fresh water every day.
- Please send in slips for the summer camp and Yorkshire Wildlife Park ASAP.
- Infant Sports' Day is now on Monday 4th July, starting at 1.30pm.
- We have run out of tissues! If any of you could kindly donate a box we would be very grateful. Thank you to parents and carers who have already sent in a box this year!
- Your child needs an empty cereal box and two small, dry plastic bottles with lids for our carnival craft activities next week.
- Enterprise week is next week. The street market will take place on Thursday afternoon between 2pm-4pm. £1 entry fee. You are welcome to collect your child from 2pm and take them shopping, if you wish to do so. If you are happy for another named parent to take your child around the street market, please write a short note to your child's class teacher/s indicating this.
We have started our whole school summer topic on the Olympics and Rio! Here are some pictures of our special Olympic bunting!
Finally, we were extremely lucky this week as we had a special 'Mini Chippers' lesson in PE. We all learned how to hold a golf club correctly, how to stand properly and how to hit the ball! We had lots of fun as you can see!
