Friday 27th November

Well, your children have worked their socks off this week and deserve a really relaxing weekend, browsing our Christmas Fair and making any last minute Christmas purchases
We have been continuing with our work on measuring this week and are moving on to position and direction. It would be great if you could help your child by giving them instructions, blindfolded (them not you) to move from one area to another without hitting anything. If you could use the language of left and right, forwards and backwards and maybe even introduce clockwise and anti clockwise that would really help to reinforce the work we are doing in class.
In Literacy, we have been working independently in our WABs (writing assessment books) to produce an information text on penguins. The children have done a great job and have remembered to include many of the features we have been studying over the last two weeks. They all need to get better at remembering to read through their final piece though to ensure their work makes sense and to spot any errors - this is a skill that is important to develop from an early age as it is something we all do even as adults.
We have now come to the end of our dinosaur topic
The children have been fantastic and extremely informative, bringing in work from home and sharing their books and models with us. Thank you for your support with this. We are beginning our new topic on Antarctica with a specific focus on Oceans and Seas of the world.

The children who represented us in the athletics event at the EIS on Wednesday did a spectacular job and came second overall. Some real talent was shown and they were a positive, enthusiastic bunch who represented the school brilliantly.
Rehearsals are now beginning to get underway - the clock is ticking rather quickly ;-)
We hope you have an amazing weekend.
