Angles, angles everywhere!!
Friday 29 Apr 2016
Well another busy week in Y4 this week. The children have been amazing and have tried really hard with all the learning we have been doing.
In Maths we have been measuring and drawing angles using a protractor. This is a really hard skill to master and they have enjoyed measuring and drawing their own angles!
We are now moving on to quadrilaterals and their properties and sorting them into a Venn diagram.
Literacy has been all about the steelman and Bochum! We had a visitor in school who spoke to the children all about his life in the steelworks and what it was like working there. He brought lots of interesting articles and pictures in for the children to look at. The children were very good and asked John some excellent questions, they found it fascinating. The children wrote some lovely recounts of the visit and seemed to really capture the stories John told them. We have had some German students in school for a week and we were lucky enough for them to talk to the children all about Bochum, the city Sheffield is twinned with. The children took lots of notes and even listened to a German pop star on You Tube.
P.E is all about cricket this half term. The children are practising their throwing and catching skills as well as starting to use a cricket bat. We've had a fair few balls flying around the school playground as well as the hall but the children are getting much better!!
Don't forget we have our trip on Thursday to the Madina Mosque and the General Cemetery. Children need to be at school at the normal time and we will be back for the end of the school day.
Girls need to ensure their legs are covered and we will be removing our shoes so socks must be worn.
Another busy week lined up for Y4!!
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend, hopefully we will see some sun!!
