Bradway Primary School

Sporting Superstars

Friday 24 Jun 2016

After a surprising start to the week, we have been very fit and active in Year 4. We started our '10 minutes a day' runs after play each morning with the children running circuits of the field for 10 minutes. After only 2 days the pace quickened and the children were endeavouring to improve their lap times or number of circuits. Some of the Year 4 girls also took part in a football competition on Wednesday and won all of their matches. On Thursday it was Sports Day and the children excelled in all areas and demonstrated super team spirit and support. It was a wonderful afternoon and linked perfectly to this half term's Olympic and carnival topics.

We also wanted to let you know that on Friday July 1st Bradway Primary school will be hosting a race track day for Key Stage 2 children in Years 3 - 5. Classes will work on team building exercises as well as learning about engineering skills and remote control cars. There is no cost for this day and we are hoping it will give children an insight in to the world of engineering while developing their skills in construction and problem solving. Year 4 will have their sessions on Friday morning.

Finally just a reminder that it is Enterprise Week next week. If you have volunteered to help in your child's class, we look forward to seeing you. The Street market will be next Thursday from 2-4pm and you should have been sent a letter about it via parent mail.

Please note spelling homework should still be handed in on Monday as usual.

Have a lovely weekend.
