30th June - Week update

Friday 30 Jun 2017

Wow, what a week! Lots of the year 5 pupils have been performing in, or helping backstage with the school production of Bugsy Malone. We are so proud of them for showing such commitment during rehearsals. They were confident performers and it was clear to see they were having a great time on stage - well done all!
We have also been incredibly proud of the children in the year group who have not been involved with the rehearsals and performances. They have supported their peers, and have been flexible when the usual timetable has needed to change. Thank you all!
In literacy this week we have continued our work on character descriptions, focusing on stylistic devices such as similes, metaphors, alliteration and hyperbole.
In maths, we have worked on coordinates in all four quadrants, and transformations of shapes - reflection and translation so far (rotation to follow soon!)
We have started to invent our own 'plague cures' in topic.
Have a great, restful weekend.
