Consider Yourself...
Friday 30 Jan 2015
Today, we've been busy converting decimals into fractions and fractions into decimals. We had to rely upon our knowledge and understanding of place value.
T U . t h th = 9/10
0 . 9
T U . t h th = 23/100
0 . 2 3
T U . t h th = 256/1000
0 . 2 5 6
We looked at the position and heading of the last digit after the decimal point and that gave us our denominator. We then simplified our fractions where possible.
During the afternoon, we discovered lots more about the Victorians. Many thanks to Jack Heap for a fantastic powerpoint! Having discussed some of the most famous Victorians, we looked at Charles Dickens and watched a few clips of 'Oliver'.
Have a superb weekend and enjoy the snow.
