Instruction Writing

Friday 22 Jan 2016

Evening!

This week in year 5 we have been writing instructions to make a shelter to survive in the wild. So feel free to leave them in the woods this weekend. They know what to do!!!.
We have been working with fractions in maths, although this has been tricky we have worked exceptionally hard and persevered even when we have found things difficult.
Mrs Roberts and I are very pleased about that.

Topic work is getting more and more exciting. This afternoon the children designed a creature with adaptations to live successfully on the school grounds. The children have come up with some fantastic ideas and these will be made into models next week. Pictures will follow.

Next week is very exciting indeed, with our trip on Monday to the Climbing Works. The children have been told that:

They need to wear, Sensible sports clothing (no jeans), Trainers/plimsolls, Warm clothing (The Climbing Works is always cold this time of year!)
They MUST bring a packed lunch, we will not be back in time to get a school dinner.
They must arrive promptly at 8:45am.

The children also need to be thinking of questions they would like to ask Bonita Norris, at 22 years old she was the youngest British woman to climb Everest.

Have a fantastic weekend, see you bright and early on Monday. It's time for an adventure!!
