Bradway Primary School

An action packed few weeks!

Tuesday 04 Apr 2017

Wow! What a busy few weeks we have had in Y6.

We have a huge update for you as the children are getting towards a well-earned Easter break.

In Literacy we completed our Walter Tull biographies and we have now begun our unit of work on the Highwayman. We have undertaken several immersion lessons and are now beginning to plan to write a diary from the perspective of one of the characters.

In science we have covered learning about our bodies including the effects alcohol and drugs can have upon them.

In maths, last week Mr Yates's group completed their work on data handling including understanding and interpreting line graphs and pie charts. Miss Svoboda's group undertook a final mock-SATs paper and them recapped work on area and perimeter.

We have completed initial 3D models of marine creatures which we will them attempt to create from chicken wire to form 3D sculptures.

This afternoon, the children are currently out and about around the school grounds completing a GIANT SPaG trail to find out who is the ultimate SPaG Champion.
We will let you know the winner shortly...

Many thanks,

The Y6 Team.
