Bar Modelling to solve fractions problems

This morning in Mr Yates' class, we worked in small teams/pairs to solve fractions problems using the bar-modelling method.

This helps to create a very visual image for undertaking what could be quite a challenging question for some children.By using the 'bars' you are able to divide the whole number up intoequal fractions and then use the information as appropriate to solve the question.

This might make finding 4/7 of 35 seem much easier!
