Fairytale visitors in Y6

Thursday 04 Feb 2016

This week the children have had two days to plan and write an entry for their WAB books,

We then had a visit on Wednesday from two famous fairytale characters - The Big Bad Wolf and one of the 3 Little Pigs.

The children were in a courtroom to question the two characters and find out the true context of what happened on the fateful day when the two of themmet.
The children were encouraged to use open ended and leading questions to ensure the characters gave a full explanation about their actions.

We also undertook some SPaG work - Identifying whether a group of words is written in the past, present or future progressive.
Here are some examples:
The boy was going to the shops (past).
The girl is eating a cake (present).
The dog will be barking at the post man.

The key thing to remember is that 'progressive' means it happened over a period of time and the progressive verb always ends '-ing'
We used actions to help us memorise whether something was past, present or progressive.

Here is our version of 'The Future' tense.
