Post-Easter blog
Wednesday 13 Apr 2016
Good evening everyone and I hope you all had a lovely Easter break.
It's been a few weeks since we last 'blogged' so here is an update of what we have been up to in Y6.
Last week was a tough one for the children as they undertook their final mock-SATs papers before the real ones in May.
They were so positive and worked so hard and their great results reflected this.
We now need to keep up the a hard work and positive attitude (as well as the bits of revision we know you are doing at home) but they key message is to keep calm and enjoy them! Remember, you are showing off what you CAN do!
This week, our writing focus has been to creature biographies of Walter Tull (please ask your children who he is and why he was such an inspiration for so many people).
Tomorrow, the children will be expert editors; they will be ensuring the work is to the best of their ability and making alterations and changes where it can be improved.
In maths, Miss Svoboda's group have undertaken co-ordinates challenges and Mr Yates's group have worked on converting different units of measure, including imperial!
Quick fire quiz:
How many centimeters in a foot?
How would you use this knowledge to work out how many centimeters in 1 yard?
Can you recall how many pounds make up a kg?
