Bradway Primary School

Week summary

Friday 15 Jan 2016

We have reached the end of an eventful and interesting week.

In literacy, we have been developing our skills to enable us to to write fabulous non-chronological reports including recapping the use of present tense and 3rd person; writing lists in different ways; using specific or technical vocabulary; the use of 'generalisers,' such as most and mainly, and using formal and informal language.

In maths, Miss Svoboda's class have covered the use of 2D shapes to create nets and 3D shapes and their properties. Mr Yates' class finished their unit of work on ratio and are now part way through our work on angles. Can you name the different types of angles and list their properties.

We also had some interesting visitors to Y6 today - World War 2 evacuees.
They certainly didn't get the same treatment our Bradway Pupils receive and were asked to undertake several unpleasant chores to keep them quiet in the classroom including sharpening pencils, cleaning the walls, picking up paper from the floor and shining shoes. It's fair to say the Y6s seemed to enjoy having little classroom 'helpers' to boss around having experienced a similar scenario themselves a couple of years ago!

Have a nice weekend everybody!
